“Portals” represents the action of trying something new and experiencing something that hasn't been experienced before. The women walking in to the ocean themed “portal” resembles two completely different things merging, because she is exposing herself to something new and intriguing. Her life consists of “warm colors” which is contrasted to the new thing she is experiencing “cold colors”. Though there are unexpected beings within these new set of colors.

In the creation of this painting, new styles new styles were explored. The piece demonstrates a view from senior hill on campus on a quiet and cloudy day. It was very quiet and peaceful, yet windy and cold, a sight that was striking yet refreshing. In "Quietly Euphoric" this feeling is attempted to be captured, which was largely based on a photo taken a while back.
