“Rainbow Crystal Ball Chamber” - Often I feel like my own well being is dependent on how others treat me. I float around in space and soak in my anger which worsens because of unexpressed creativity. So for my painting I pretended that I was floating in some interstellar plane where everything is expressed on its own and there is no need to try to conjure an argument or identity weapon to save myself. I simulate my own reality. My painting is an expectation of what colors would look like in this realm. I painted a safe space that kind of looks like the fifteenth dimension somewhere where the lattice structures in a crystal have gone through some kind of explosion. I'm sure it feels pretty windy and like you are swimming in the rings of Saturn. The rainbow pastels and colored planet rings look even brighter and euphoric next to dark twisting line work which Is becoming a huge pattern for me.
"Synesthesia" - In this painting you can see a purple eye floating in a cosmic ocean-like background with bright, organic shapes emerging from the shadows. The inspiration is the personal experience I have when I see the world with synesthesia, an acute neurological disorder. The eye is purple because purple symbolizes passion, strong emotion, and romantic energies that I’m drawn to and see in images of people and dreams. The light and dark shades in the iris symbolize both the lightheartedness and frustration I feel as information from the world is drawn in and flushes out. The bright organic shapes in orange, emerald green, bright red, and sea blue emerging around the eye represent, in a simplistic way, the emotions I see in the visual realm. The red draping emulates a soft feeling and heavy weight that makes the speculator feel a sense of stillness and calm. Duly it creates a quiet ambiance and an open stage as if anything could happen next. It places the painted perspective in a specific predisposition to thought so the concept is clear even though it’s abstract. When you are willing to perceive things calmly and at peace using your imagination instead of just your own basic logic I believe the world, difficult situations, and complex problems can be thought of freely. Therefore my piece expresses a deep meaning that synesthesia is much more than preowned normal logic and reasoning and is a beautifully artistic way of seeing things.
"The End of the Earth" - A planetary probe earth is crashing into the planet surrounded by levitating orbs in a a pre-genesis of the end of the planet due to global warming, nuclear war, and endemic reasons. Plant life still survives and this is an abstracted scene of all the radioactive noise and metaphorical earth crash.
