Adriana chose Alice in Wonderland because it is an iconic story that has been reshaped and rewritten in different ways throughout the century. Personally mad hatter is one of her favorite characters of all time because she sees a person so out of society’s rules with his wonky clothes and silly behavior. This inspired Adriana to tell a story about how Alice also doesn’t fit the ‘norm’ and acts curiously and childish even before the rabbit hole. Adriana’s sister helped her out with this photoshoot by ‘becoming’ Alice; she dressed up in blue and put clips in her hair. They used a mug to represent the tea party, and a jewelry box to represent small items, a common theme throughout the story. Adriana sees small items like potion bottles, pocket watches and keys, and didn’t own any that fit the look of the story so she used a jewelry box to represent them. One of her favorite quotes from the live action adaptation is “I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.” This quote makes Adriana feel safe because it means that you could not fit society’s standards and be viewed as weird but you’re living your own life, not someone else’s. Adriana also likes Tim Burton’s take on this story because of the pretty gothic filter and fashion.
