Beyond the Border is a canvas painting of a surfer with his surfboard protruding from the canvas and clay palm tree figures. The purpose of this painting is to convey perseverance. The transition from 2D to 3D is intended to bring the artwork to life and, as a result, to diverge from the traditional rules of a painting. The frame is also there to suggest that the painting has an end, but not the life that it creates.
